4/20- Taylor Hollingsworth

Taylor Hollingsworth is a fingerpicking songwriter hailing from Birmingham, Alabama. With his unique blend of folk and rock, he has carved out a distinct musical niche that he affectionately calls "folk n' roll" or electric folk. Taylor's dedication to his craft has earned him accolades and recognition both within and outside the local music scene.

Having made waves in the industry, Taylor's music has found its way onto popular TV shows and movies, showcasing his ability to craft captivating melodies that resonate with audiences of all kinds. Notably, his talents have even attracted the attention of renowned artists Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers, who covered his song Dominos, solidifying his status as a true songwriting force.

Taylor's musical journey has taken him to late-night television, where he showcased his skills as Conor Oberst's lead guitar player. However, at his core, Taylor finds solace in setting up his own PA system, strumming his guitar, and captivating local audiences in Birmingham's vibrant bar scene. With a commitment to authenticity and artistic freedom, Taylor has weathered the highs and lows of the industry, experiencing both record deals and disappointments as a result of his uncompromising artistic vision.

After the music industry turned its attention elsewhere, Taylor embraced a new chapter in his life, embracing domesticity alongside his wife and daughter. Remaining true to his musical roots, he continued to ply his trade as a full-time local musician in Birmingham. Unlike many local musicians, Taylor shunned the easy route of cover songs, remaining committed to performing his original material, a testament to his unwavering passion and dedication.

Taylor Hollingsworth embodies the true spirit of the DIY ethos, not merely as a trendy buzzword but as a way of life. He assumes full control of every aspect of his music career, running his life as a small local business. From songwriting to production to marketing, Taylor expertly navigates the ever-changing landscape of the music industry, firmly establishing himself as a self-made artist with a captivating sound.

Additionally, Taylor's artistry extends beyond his solo endeavors. With his band Dead Fingers, featuring his wife, he created the mesmerizing and soulful song "Ring Around Saturn," garnering nearly 3 million streams. Furthermore, his rock 'n' roll band The Blips gained recognition when their song "Inside Out" was featured as the Coolest Song in the World on Little Steven's Underground Garage, solidifying their place within the rock music scene.

As Taylor Hollingsworth continues to forge his unique path, he remains an inspiration to aspiring musicians and a true testament to the triumphs and resilience of those who steadfastly pursue their artistic vision. Whether playing to large audiences or intimate local venues, his music tells a story that resonates deeply, embodying the spirit and soul of a talented artist unafraid to defy conventions and forge his own path.
